• °Õ³ó±ð Guide for Aligning Local Curricula to the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards was designed to support New York State school districts and educators as they implement the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards (adopted 2017).

• ´¡â€¯Professional Development Toolkit a²Ô»å PowerPoint presentation are available for districts toÌýutilize in conjunction with the Guide for Aligning Local Curricula to support locally held professional development sessions on aligning local mathematics curriculum to the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards.Ìý

• The guidance document, Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards: Suggested Breakdown of Instructional Time, is an optional resource intended to provide support and guidance for districts and teachers;Ìýassisting with classroom instructional planning for the implementation of the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards (NGMLS).

​Post-Test Standards Designations

The New York State Mathematics Grades 3–8 Tests are administered in April/May. Each question on a New York State Mathematics Grades 3–8 grade-level test is aligned only to a pre-test standard (September to April/May) for the grade level or a post-test standard (May-to-June) from the prior grade level. While the pre/post guidance provides a clear designation of when students are assessed for understanding content at the proficiency/mastery level, it is not intended to serve as a directive as to when the content should be introduced or how instruction of content should occur.
